2003 Nordic Tug 42 "Sea Gypsy"

NT 42 Sea Gypsy is powered by a single 450 hp Cummins diesel engine and is best described as an elegant go-anywhere boat that’s as tough as nails. The master stateroom is forward with an island queen bed, hanging locker, storage drawers & shelves and head with stall shower. Headroom in the master stateroom is an astonishing 6’ 10”. The guest stateroom is midships to port with a double berth, hanging locker and storage drawers & shelves. The guest head is to starboard and includes a stall shower. Both heads feature stainless steel bowls, mirrored Corian vanity tops and Vac-U-Flush toilets. A compact office/work station, which also contains the 12v DC and 120v AC distribution panels is located to starboard just aft of the guest head, below the pilothouse. The saloon/galley area enjoys a great deal of natural light, and is very well ventilated. The main saloon includes an L- settee, which can also be made up into a single or double berth.

A few steps up from the saloon lead to the pilothouse, which has 360 degree visibility. Features include a central swiveling helm chair facing the central instrument display. A large chart table/nav area is forward to port of the wheel, with an unusual aft-facing seat to starboard. A forward-facing settee, raised table & shelf are to port aft at the pilothouse bulkhead. Port and starboard sliding doors lead out to the sidedecks from the pilothouse. The flybridge offers a swiveling helm seat plus fixed seats for an additional 4 persons. Nordic Tugs have a well-deserved reputation for fuel economy, for being very solidly built and quiet underway, with minimal engine noise and no vibration. Sea Gypsy’s equipment inventory includes; bow and stern thrusters, 8 kw generator, windlass, 3 reverse cycle air conditioning units, propane 3-burner stove with oven, refrigerator, freezer, trash-compacter, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, TV with VCR, & AM-FM radio, swim platform & swim ladder, a flybridge canvas bimini top and an aft cockpit canvas bimini.  Electronic navigation equipment includes magnetic compass, depth sounder, GPS, auto-pilot & VHF radios at both helm stations.
